Type 2 Diabetes Remission: Evidence, Strategies, and Clinical Practice

Description: Type 2 diabetes remission is a realistic goal for many patients, yet not all healthcare professionals are familiar with the formal definitions or the best evidence-based strategies to achieve it. This webinar will explore the science, clinical tools, and patient-centered approaches that support remission. Participants will gain clarity on dietary interventions, effective communication strategies, and clinical practices that optimize outcomes and reduce reliance on medication.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Define type 2 diabetes remission using current consensus criteria.

  2. Evaluate effective dietary interventions shown to support remission.

  3. Analyze the evidence regarding glycemic control, macronutrient-focused patterns, and food-based approaches.

  4. Apply motivational interviewing strategies to support patient engagement in remission-oriented care.

  5. Develop practical approaches for accurately recognizing type of diabetes and implementing clinical strategies that optimize the likelihood of remission or medication reduction.
